Course Description:

In this course we will be looking at the fundamental principles, which make your art stronger. For example, Composition, Tonal Values, Colour, Textures, Taking risks and putting more of yourself, your soul, into your work. We will learn about how to gain clarity in order to move forward with your work, giving it the ‘WOW’ factor. We will learn what makes us FEEL ALIVE by being more conscious of the range of DIFFERENCES we use in our work and therefore we will become more discerning and authentic in our art making.

As well as work on paper, we will be making a series of 3-6 paintings on primed hardboard panels using acrylic paints. We will also use a wide range of other materials such as collage, texture gels, oil pastels, ink, charcoal and pencils. Tools we will use: paintbrushes, trowels, straight edges, rollers, old credit cards, printing gelli plates and squeegees or bring any other tools you would like to try out.
